Free Forever Open Source Your Google Drive No Server Required

Me and my cousin play Icarus together. He works nights. When he's not online, the server closes. I got frustrated one night — couldn't get back into a world we'd spent weeks building. So I asked myself: why can't save files just sync automatically between friends, like Google Drive syncs documents?

Ten days later, Hearth existed. No coding background. No roadmap. Just a problem that needed solving and enough stubbornness to see it through.

How It Works

Dead Simple. Actually Works.

Hearth runs in the background and handles everything automatically. You play the game. Hearth handles the rest.

01

Share Your World

Check the box next to any world in Hearth. It pushes your save files to a shared Google Drive folder your group controls.

02

Your Friends Sync

When a friend opens Hearth, it automatically pulls the latest version of shared worlds before they even launch the game.

03

Play. Close. Done.

When you close your game, Hearth waits 20 seconds then automatically pushes your progress back to Drive. No manual steps.

04

Lock Protection

When you're playing, Hearth shows everyone else that the world is in use. No accidental overwrites. No lost progress.

Privacy & Security

Your Files. Your Drive. Your Control.

A lot of people ask about security. Here's exactly how it works — no vague promises.

🔒

One Folder Only

Your friend gets access to one HearthSync folder. Not your email. Not your photos. Not anything else in your Google Drive.

🚫

No Passwords

Hearth never asks for your Google password or account credentials. It reads and writes through Google's own desktop app.

📦

No Third-Party Servers

Your save files never touch anyone else's servers. They live in your Google Drive — controlled by you, backed up by Google.

👁

Fully Open Source

Every single line of code is public on GitHub. Anyone can read exactly what Hearth does before running it.

About the Windows security warning: When you first run Hearth.exe, Windows may say "Unknown publisher." This happens because Hearth doesn't have a paid code-signing certificate yet — not because it's dangerous. Click "More info" then "Run anyway." You can verify the source code yourself at github.com/hearthforpc-oss/Hearth.
